Stallion Megan Ti joins campaign against ban on abortion in Texas

Cool, your girl Megan You Stallion was talking! Megan went to Instagram on Friday to share her alliance with a campaign that opposes the severely restrictive abortion ban. She kept her message simple. However, its support could have an impact during this intense battle for the ban, called SB 8.

What does the ban do?

Texas is definitely fighting for one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the country. After the Supreme Court allowed the ban to remain in place, lower courts tried to fight it. U.S. District Judge Robert Pittman issued an order blocking the law on Wednesday. By evening, however, Texas had declared its intention to appeal.

Those intentions were fulfilled on Friday when the Fifth U.S. District Court of Appeals overturned Wednesday’s victory. According to the NPR, the ban will remain in force until October 12. This marks the deadline for the Ministry of Justice to respond to the decision.

As you may already know, the ban does not allow pregnant women to have an abortion for another six weeks. In addition, it entitles private citizens to enforce the ban through legal proceedings. Anyone living in or outside of Texas can sue abortion providers who perform the procedure after six weeks, as well as anyone who “helps or holds back.”

Megan’s message and planned parenting

As for Megan, the Texas-born shared a photo with orange-gray color text. The text reads in large letters, “I am against the ban on abortion in Texas.” The campaign, called Bans Off Our Bodies, is reportedly the work of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

According to their website, they recently launched a six-figure advertising campaign “to mobilize people and raise awareness of the most dangerous attack on reproductive freedom that our country has seen in generations.”

Their budget for buying ads is reported to be $ 150,000 and is planned to reach people in Texas and other states with limited access to abortion. This list includes: Arizona, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan and Mississippi. However, it is unclear whether Megan received payment to join Planned Parenthood’s call for action.

“You all know I’m a Texas girl and we deserve better,” Megan wrote on her Instagram post. “Politicians want to cut off access to abortion and control our bodies, our lives and our future,” I said. Take action today and send an ACCESS text to 22422. #BansOffOurBodies ”

Still, Megan, joining the campaign through her Instagram, turned her attention to an important health issue in Texas. The rapper boasts over 25.6 million followers. Her post garnered more than 315,000 likes and more than 3,500 comments by Friday night. While many commentators stood with Megan, others objected to abortion and access to it.
