Talk about delaying delivery! Instead of a mailbox and returning to the doorstep, someone working for FedEx has recently shown a little creativity on his route. Last week, Alabama authorities found between 300-400 packages dumped in the woods. Since then, police have not revealed much about the investigation. But on Monday, the Blount County Sheriff confirmed that a delivery driver had been identified and questioned in the case.
“There have been a lot of questions, mainly from the media, about the failure of FedEx,” Sheriff Mark Moon wrote on Facebook. “Investigators have spoken to FedEx security officials and the driver has been identified and questioned. Expect more, please be patient, as we are currently going into all the details. All information we can share will be shared when we can share it. “
Delivery, but for whom?
The owner of the afforested property opened the packages the day before Thanksgiving. Boxes of all sizes, placed just outside Hayden, Alabama. The small town is located north of Birmingham, according to AP News.
After the find, the sheriff’s office provided a strange, packet pit stop. Meanwhile, FedEx drivers traveled from all over the southern states to retrieve and load the packages. A neighbor named Natasha Abni spoke to WBMA-TV about the unusual incident.

A group of eight men worked on Thanksgiving morning to complete the work. These employees were collecting extras sent by mail, thrown into the woods and piled up at the bottom of a wooded hill, the AP said.
Last Friday, Memphis-based Tennessee FedEx made a statement to AP News.
“The security of our customers ‘shipments is a top priority and we are committed to treating our customers’ packages with the utmost care,” FedEx said. “We are taking steps to recover and transport the affected packages as quickly as possible.”
FedEx not only cooperates with the police, but also conducts its own investigation and takes “appropriate action.”
