The Secretary of the Army has instructed commanders to initiate compulsory administrative separation proceedings against any soldier who refuses a vaccination order against COVID-19. This includes those who do not have an approved or pending release request. If you remember, the Ministry of Defense insisted on vaccinations against COVID-19, necessary for all employees of the department in August 2021.
Army Secretary Wormuth issued a statement on the army’s decision to fire the soldiers. She said: “The readiness of the army depends on the soldiers who are ready to train, deploy, fight and win the wars of our nation. She continued: “Unvaccinated soldiers pose a risk to forces and threaten readiness. We will start a procedure for the forced separation of soldiers who refuse the vaccine order and do not wait for a final decision on release. “
Soldiers who are released will miss the bag. The military will not give any alms. Soldiers will not be entitled to pay for forced separation and, on top of that, they may have to repay any special or incentive payment not received. Currently, 96% of the active troops are fully vaccinated, while 3,350 soldiers have refused the vaccine. In addition, nearly 5,900 have received temporary exemptions.
