The 2021 Primetime Emmy Awards took over CBS and Paramount + on Sunday night for its 73rd annual event. As previously reported, the event was held live in Los Angeles indoors. According to CBS News, invitations were limited to nominated and selected guests and all had to show proof of vaccination against Covid-19.

Seth Rogan calls out to Emmy
Seth Rogan rode virus waves on Twitter and Instagram after a short stay on stage in this show. Dressed in an orange-brown-brown suit, Seth came on stage and expressed excitement that he was on an Emmy. He then started waving his fingers at Amy for their COVID-19 practices, and the moment quickly hit social media.
“Let me start by saying that there are too many of us in this small room,” Seth said on stage. “What are we doing?”
“RuPaul’s Drag Race” wins
RuPaul’s Drag Race took home the award for outstanding program for Emmy Awards races in 2021! This honor actually marks Amy’s 11th victory for RuPaul Charles, making him now “the most awarded black artist in Amy’s history” with 11 awards.
“I can destroy you” wins
Michaela Coel’s “I Can Destroy You” won the Emmy Award for Writing for a limited or anthology series or film. According to the New York Times, Michaela is now the first black woman to win an Emmy in this category. During her acceptance speech, she dedicated the award to survivors of sexual violence.
“Write a story that scares you, that makes you feel insecure, that it’s not comfortable,” Michaela said. “I challenge you. In a world that entices us to look at the lives of others to help us better define how we feel about ourselves and in turn feel the need to be constantly visible – for visibility these days as if in some way way equals success – don’t be afraid to disappear. “
Hamilton wins

Debbie Allen received the Governor’s Award

Legendary dancer, choreographer, actor, singer, director, producer, writer and humanitarian Debbie Allen was awarded the Governor’s Award of the Television Academy for 2021.
