Biden to announce new steps to control COVID proliferation

September 9, 2021 – President Joe Biden will announce tonight stricter vaccination mandates for federal workers and contractors, according to CNN. The new rules are expected to be part of a larger plan to combat COVID-19 in the United States.

The president is scheduled to present his latest strategies for the White House pandemic at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Biden’s hope is to restore the US response to the pandemic amid a wave of new cases, hospitalizations and deaths caused by the Delta option.

He is expected to sign an enforcement order that will require all federal workers to be vaccinated against COVID-19, without the possibility of regular tests to waive the requirement.

The order tightens vaccination requirements imposed on federal officials earlier this year. Earlier, the White House allowed federal workers to abandon vaccination, agreeing to other measures, such as regular tests.

Another executive order will extend the vaccination mandate to employees working for companies that have a contract with the federal government.

Other federal health agencies, such as the Department of Veterans Affairs, Indian Health Services and National Institutes of Health, will continue with previously announced vaccination requirements, according to CNN.

Biden is expected to address the confusion over booster photos and announce an expansion of free testing. It will also put pressure on private businesses, states and schools to introduce stricter vaccination and testing policies, according to New York Times.

Thanks to federal funding, many schools now use regular, rapid tests to help track cases and detect infections early to keep children under the age of 12 – who cannot yet be vaccinated – in classrooms. .

Biden’s basis for the pandemic came after his administration had to abandon previously announced plans to offer additional doses of COVID-19 vaccine to anyone who wanted it eight months after their last vaccination. The administration said the move was to boost immunity, which appears to be declining compared to the Delta version.

Shortly after the announcement that the United States would offer boosters from September 20, two high-level vaccine reviewers from the FDA resigned. The couple reportedly were upset that the administration had made plans before the agency’s review.
