E !: You all live together in Malibu. what is this?
LB: It was definitely a big change, just to be in a huge house where I have to walk 10 minutes to get to the other side of it! This is very surreal for me. I would find that he was just laughing or crying, thinking, “Where am I? What is this? It doesn’t feel real. But I like it here. I’ve always wanted to move to LA, it’s always been my big dream.
E !: You are all fans of Doja Cat. Trey, what do you find most inspiring about her?
Trey Taylor: I literally had a plan to attend every audition this year. I would fly to any city for an open conversation because I wanted to dance for her so much. I’m not sorry I joined this band because it’s my way, but I love Doja. She has been a great inspiration to me for a long time, since the middle / early high school.
MW: She definitely feels that connection because she posted it on her Instagram!
Well !: No way!
TT: Yes. So she knows I exist. We will get married.
JH: I think her performance is what surely captivates us all. Not only is she an amazing artist – even her dances are amazing – but her presence on stage is just as captivating.
E !: Drew, you grew up with sports before you started dancing. Tell us about this transition.
Drew Venegas: I’ve always liked sports, but I never had a way out where I could fully express myself until I got to know dancing in high school. I moved my second year to another school and they had a dance team. All I needed was to watch them at a rally; the crowd was going crazy over them, and I said to myself, “Wow, I want to do this. I want to be right there. Once I discovered this, it definitely changed my life. I have never been more passionate and able to express myself more than I am now.
E !: We also have some big Rihanna fans in this band. Sasha, how do you feel about the baby news?
LB: Oh, my God. We are happy for her! Definitely happy!
AG: This is going to be the most beautiful baby there is.
SM: I know. A $ AP Rocky and Rihanna? But Drake you have to be upset.
E !: What have you learned from your participation in The Future X so far?
JH: I’m the youngest. I’m still in high school, so it was a change, I’m just moving away from home. But having [the other members] it was insanely reassuring here because I can just look at them as my older siblings. This is a new home, this is a family, and I am so happy to have them, because each of them – all our one-on-one conversations – all of them helped inspire me to be a better person.
E !: Drew, how about the oldest member of the band?
DV: I am an older brother and I treat them as if they were my brothers and sisters. It’s always something, whether it’s learning how to cook from Angie, learning how to play video games from Luke, learning how to just be a better person because Maci is so calm and collected. Trey to be so much fun, just to be yourself. And then Jane, she’s so smart and so young. I think everyone has so much to share with me and I learned so much.
