We believe in using only the highest quality ingredients. If you have bought our supplements, you probably know that this is true: every bioactive and phytonutrient that goes into these formulas has been selected with intent and precision. We do not interfere with our efficiency or responsibility. So when we started looking for local formulations, we knew we had a high bar.
Although there is no regulated definition of “pure”, we believe that this has become a useful term for consumers to identify formulas that are in line with their wishes. Each brand, retailer and organization has its own set of standards for their clean version – and we have always encouraged people to look for brands that match their own. We have excluded many of the common ingredients that are currently buzzing, including parabens, phthalates, mineral oils, petrochemicals, common allergens that release formaldehyde and formaldehyde, silicones, BHA, BHT and over 1,000 other ingredients regulated by the European Union.
But in the formulation process, we didn’t really start by outlining what we didn’t want. For us, creating a clean product with integrity was the main line. So instead we started by outlining the ingredients we wanted. We wanted natural plant products, naturally derived active substances and responsible synthetics. We wanted ingredients that have been shown to be well tolerated by most people. We wanted high-tech, innovative active substances that nourish the microbiome and the skin barrier. We wanted nutrient-rich plant products that give the skin antioxidants, lipids and fatty acids.
And after outlining all this, we were able to come up with formulas on purpose. You see, we have always found that when you approach an endeavor from a place of abundance rather than constraint, you are more able to thrive.
But the standards go beyond formulas. It is also important to consider the packaging. Our lip balm tube is housed in Eco-Smart Resin © and is 100% recyclable with similar materials. However, this material goes even further: Eco Smart containers are proprietary technology that allows plastic components to be completely degraded in a biologically active environment, such as landfills and marine environments. It is fully FDA compliant and manufactured in the United States. Our delivery boxes are made from 100% recycled paper and are fully recyclable on board. And did we mention that our formulas are made in a plant powered by 100% wind energy?
