September 2021. Overview of Apple events: iPhone 13, iPad Mini, Apple Watch 7

[ad_1]

It’s kind of September already, which means it’s time for a new iPhone. Today, as has been done for the past year and a half, Apple has streamed a virtual launch event from the spacecraft’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. (These remote features may take some time, as Apple has withdrawn its plan to get employees to return to the office by next year.)

In addition to four new iPhone models, Apple unveiled some other brilliant gadgets – including a new Apple Watch and an updated iPad Mini – and gave updates to the growing business with services and software running on its many devices.

Here’s everything Apple announced.

Hello, iPhone 13

There are four versions of the iPhone 13 to choose from. They range from the cheap 5.4-inch screen to the torn and functional 6.7-inch Pro Max. In terms of design, the visual differences in the new models are insignificant. At least the notorious slit is a little smaller.

Inside, each phone works with Apple’s new A15 Bionic chip. It allows improved features such as live text analysis, advanced map animations and instant visual identification of plants and animals, all of which are processed on the device without the help of the cloud. Storage options have also been boosted. All new iPhones start with 128 GB of storage, but for the first time, Pro phones can be increased to 1 terabyte of space.

You can read our iPhone 13 report for a full look at its new features. The iPhone 13 Mini starts at $ 699, the regular iPhone is $ 799, the Pro is $ 999, and the Pro Max starts at $ 1099. Pre-orders open on Friday and all phones will be available on September 24.

Apple only briefly touched on the privacy features of the new iPhones during today’s event, perhaps because it sought to avoid getting into the recent photo-scanning dispute in which it found itself.

Perhaps the most impressive update of the whole event was Apple’s new video feature for the iPhone, called Cinematic Mode. This is a kind of video portrait that automatically changes the focus and blurs the background for an adjustable bokeh effect. On Pro phones, you can adjust the depth of field and focus even after shooting. There is also the ability to shoot in Apple’s high-quality ProRes format.

The iPhone Pro models received updates on their three lenses: telephoto, wide and ultra wide. There are also some new advanced device color correction options and photo enhancements that automatically adjust images based on the colors and skin tones of the subjects.

New iPad and iPad Mini

The smallest iPad received a significant update. Apple has brought the aesthetics of the iPad Mini more in line with its other recently redesigned tablets. It is thinner, with softer rounded corners. The screen is now slightly larger, with a diameter of 8.3 inches. To adapt to this wider format, the Touch ID sensor has been moved to the outer rim. The home button has disappeared and there is now a USB-C port at the bottom. It really looks like a giant iPhone!
