When he came many of us have mixed feelings about security cameras. Cameras can be extremely useful. We want to know if people are breaking into our house while we are on vacation or if our children have returned home safely from school. We want to check on our pets while we are at work, or see if our babies are safe and sleeping soundly.

In my tests, I found that C by GE products are capable and affordable. Rebranding has not changed so far. This camera works well and is very similar to many of its competitors. Its distinguishing feature is the prison. It physically covers the camera lens to reveal bright red plastic underneath. The crossed-out camera symbol is a clear visual confirmation that no, nothing bad is happening here! There are no guesses and no blinking of a small LED to see what color it is. Closing the shutter also turns off the status LED and the microphone.
Obviously, you need to remember to slide the shutter down when you are ready to start recording again. You can also turn privacy mode on and off from the app wherever you are, as long as the shutter does not cover the camera. For example, if you want to know that the viewer has come there, but also want to feel comfortable, you can wait for the signal and then turn it off. They will know that they are not being watched when the green LED light goes out.
Of course, no prison can provide 100% security. People can get into just about anything: doorbells, baby monitors, and even the security systems of large corporations are compromised. Eufy’s recent “software problem” has allowed users to see the camera shows of other customers – that is, complete strangers – instead of their own.
When you invite a camera into your home, you take a risk. The shutter of the Cync camera offers at least an extra layer of security. As with any security camera, choose a strong, unique password and set up two-factor authentication. Cync makes this easy by automatically setting up the latter (and you can’t opt out). After entering your password, it prompts you to enter a verification code via email. You also need to change your Wi-Fi password from the standard one given to you by the company, and keep your cameras and routers updated through regular software updates. Also, maybe don’t strip naked and do nothing, uh, terribly intimate in front all kinds camera on or off.
Success on installation
The body of the camera is small and like most of the cameras we tested, quite unpretentious. It easily fits on a side table or shelf or you can mount it. It rotates 360 degrees on its stand, so you can face it anywhere before you go – this also makes installation easier almost anywhere. Unlike panoramic cameras, you can’t change the direction of the app while watching the live stream, only manually – which can be a bonus for those of you who change their clothes behind the camera lens.
