Courtney Cox, 31, had it all. She was a successful corporate judge at Paul Hastings’ powerful law firm in Atlanta. She was beautiful, respected, made a lot of money, and had a very promising future.
Courtney was unfortunately killed yesterday by a man she started dating a few weeks ago, Jarvis Jarrett. And MTO News has learned that Jarvis has been described by people who know him on social media as a “thug” or a “street dude.”
It’s not clear why a highly qualified lawyer would want to come up with a thug – but sometimes heart decisions don’t make sense.
Police say Jarvis killed Courtney in her luxury Peachtree apartment in Midtown, Atlanta, MTO News has learned.
MTO News has learned that police say Jarvis shot and killed Courtney in his luxury Atlantic House Midtown apartment shortly after three in the morning.
“It looks like the suspect was in the apartment,” said Deputy Chief Charles Hampton. “There was no forced entry or anything like that.”
But Jarvis didn’t just KILL beauty. . . the alleged “robber” was involved in a deadly shootout with police, MTO News has learned.
Police say Jarvis then started firing a rifle at the first responders from the balcony on the 21st floor.

At one point, investigators said he jumped from balcony to balcony, firing inside and outside the building, firing several units.
His reckless shooting could kill dozens of innocent people, MTO News has learned.
“While we were receiving the information through 911, our dispatchers could hear gunfire throughout the building,” said Chief Rodney Bryant.
At least one officer returned fire, and police later found Jarvis dead on a balcony. It is unclear whether he was shot by officers or committed suicide.
Law firm Paul Hastings told the media that Courtney has been working with them since 2016.
In a statement, they said:
“Courtney was a dear friend and colleague of our staff here in Atlanta and throughout the company. We are deeply saddened by this tragedy.
