Maury Povich’s Self-Titled Talk Show To Come To An End After Three Decades

The landscape of talk show television seems to change as the days go by, and yet another show will come to an end. This time, a show that many folks have grown up watching will soon end production after 31 years.

According to Deadline Maury Povich’s syndicated talk show “Maury,” will officially come to an end. The show will wrap up its original production after this season, and new episodes will air throughout September. After that, previous episodes will continue to air in syndication. Maury’s show first hit the air back in 1991.

Deadline notes that this is the second show that is under NBCUniversal that will come to an end. Previously they announced the cancellation of Jerry Springer’s show “Judge Jerry,” after three seasons.

Maury has mastered the art of capturing audiences of different generations, and also remaining up to date on popular culture by commenting on trending moments on social media.

As previously reported, Wendy Williams‘talk show will also come to an end after its current season. Wendy has been absent all season due to health concerns, and her show has rotated a list of guest hosts. News about Wendy’s show ending came as it was announced that Sherri Shepherd will be hosting her own self-titled show, which will fulfill Wendy’s time slot on-air.

A few weeks later, it was announced that Nick Cannon‘s show was canceled after only six months.

It was rumored that “The Real,” is also expected to be canceled, however, last week Loni Love addressed the rumors and saidIt’s been a busy few days but I got a call from the studio .. no official decision has been made about #TheReal … I will be ok but please give grace to the 150 crew members this may affect… we will finish Season 8 and wait for the official word. ”

Maury has not yet spoken out about the ending of his show.
