Hello friends! I hope you have a wonderful week. I wanted to share and update this post again, as the pilot made an amazing PDF with the plans he used to build this raised garden bed. It would be ideal for a winter project and can be ready in time for spring planting!
Gardening has become one of my favorite things and it was pretty amazing to walk outside and have everything I needed to make a salad. 🙂

For today’s post I wanted to share the new garden that the pilot built! We had two orange trees on the side of our yard, but we removed them. They were full of horrible stickers and produced sour oranges that no one ate. (Except for the time when Liv and our cousin Sarah made orange juice for me … and I had to drink it haha. I did a crazy sour dance in the backyard before I spat it out.) Anyway, this part of. the yard was bare and we had big dreams of putting something in its place.

We also had watering from the trees, so I decided it would be cool to put up a raised garden bed to complement our flat lettuce. I was browsing options online and was about to click “Add to cart” when the pilot passed by and said, “What are you doing? I can do it completely. “

We are waiting for what ???

So the Pilot is insanely smart – I mean, he flies a lot of NBD planes – but I had no idea he was comfortable either. (He did build the famous birdhouse, so I should have known.) I was quite surprised to see him on the porch with wooden boards and a circular saw doing his thing. It was like my dream come true for Chip and Jojo hahaha.

Before I knew it, we had a giant garden bed, complete with a mesh screen on both sides (we wait until summer and the scorching hot sun sets to cover it completely), water protection and attached to irrigation!

Isn’t it beauty ???

A bed of this size could easily cost $ 300-400 online. He received deliveries from Lowe’s for $ 150. (The soil was another story. In the end, we needed 30 cubic feet!)

I asked him if he had written a lesson in case anyone wanted to repeat this at home!

So far, we have grown onions, carrots, beets, broccoli, cauliflower, paprika, banana peppers, tomatoes, eggplants and cucumbers in our raised garden bed. In addition, in our little lettuce we have a ton of chard, plus kale, arugula, spinach and Romanian, which grow like crazy. Guinea pigs may be the most enthusiastic of all in the family.

Do you have a home garden? Any tips or something you found useful?
