Julia Fox took to social media to clear the air about her recent Kanye West comments. Just days ago, Julia told TMZ she believes Kanye is “harmless” and not a threat to Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson. Now, the ‘Uncut Gems’ actress is saying she wasn’t fully informed on Ye’s recent Instagram content. In fact, she made it clear that she doesn’t keep tabs on her former bae.
“I would like to point out that I hadn’t seen the latest IG posts at the time of this video,” she wrote on her Instagram Story along with a repost of TMZ’s interview. “Believe it or not I have a son and I don’t have Google alerts set for this man! I thought this question was in reference to his music video. ”
Julia’s Recent Ye Comments
As previously reported, a TMZ staffer approached Julia following her workout session in Los Angeles. During this exchange, the staffer asked if Kim and Pete should be concerned for their safety. Julia replied no, adding “he’s harmless.” As a follow-up, the staffer mentioned Ye’s posts threatening violence. Julia, again, denied Ye is a danger.
“I just think that’s his artistic creative expression.”
Julia continued, “I know it’s aggressive, but I really don’t. I think that if it really came down to it, I don’t think Kanye would hurt a fly, ”Julia replied.
The interview was published hours before Ye’s 24-hour-suspension ban on Instagram was set to expire. As previously reported, Kanye was blocked from the platform for violating its policies on harassment, bullying and hate speech.
Clearing The Air
Apparently, Julia’s answer above was in reference to Kanye’s ‘Eazy’ music video featuring The Game. When they released the song in January, it caught people’s attention because of the line “God saved me from the crash, just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s a **.” But the music video went viral for featuring an animated character that resembles Pete. In the clip, the character is seemingly kidnapped and buried in the ground. Following backlash, Ye clarified the intention behind his video.
“Art is therapy just like this view,” Kanye wrote on Instagram. “Art is protected as freedom of speech.”
He continued, “Art inspires and simplifies the world. Art is not a proxy for any ill or harm. Any suggestion otherwise about my art is false and mal intended, ”
Per Julia, the video is the “aggressive” post she believed the TMZ staff was referencing in their question and comment.
“Trust me guys I feel terrible that everything I do and say goes in the press. I am so sick of myself too, ”Julia wrote. I’m just trying to stay authentically me and do all the same things I would have done before. It’s just that now way more ppl are paying attention.
Julia On Why She Answers Press Questions
And Julia also had words for folks questioning why she continues to speak to the press about Ye.
“And yeah I could just not answer the questions but then it would be‘ Julia is mad she salty ’etc. and I’m not, ”she wrote. “It’s a real catch 22. So pls stop fkn asking me !!!! I wish I had the answers, but I do not. And I would like to remain an indie queen. This mainstream life is not for me. ”
