Rapper Guna and Atlanta-based nonprofit Goodr have joined forces in many cases in the past. Their latest joint efforts will help more than 900 students as well as teachers.
Guna, 28, is returning significantly to her former high school in College Park, Georgia, to Ronald E. McNair. The store, called Gunna’s Drip Closet and Goodr Grocery Store, offers a range of items: food, clothing, toiletries and household items, all free for school families. According to Good morning America, the school is designated as Title 1 or in other words a high school with high poverty. The grand opening of the store was on September 16.

“That’s all I wanted,” Ghana told Good Morning America during the surprise opening for students. “I will keep coming back.”
Goodr founder and CEO Jasmine Crowe said: “Millions of children depend on the free breakfast and lunch provided at school, but then go home and often do not have access to what they receive at school until now. “
Goodr’s mission is to eliminate hunger and food waste through broad initiatives. Crow and Guna’s latest charity is doing just that. In addition, Crowe said: “I really want to give these children a chance to be completely themselves and not worry about something as simple as what I think should be a human right for everyone, like the opportunity to eat.”
“The rapper Guna is from this field and was actually a graduate of McNair. He wanted to go back to his community and chose McNair, “said school principal John Madden Jr. in a statement to CW69 Atlanta. “We are just excited about this opportunity to have this extra resource for our communities.”
September 16 was a big day for the signatory of Young Stoner Life. Along with the opening of the new store, Guna received her own day in South Fulton, Georgia, called Guna Day.
