Friday Faves – The Fitnessista

Hello friends! Happy Friday! I’m very happy that the weekend is heeeee. What’s going on this weekend? I’m looking forward to catching an F45 class with a friend (I LOVE HIM – more below) and going on a little trip with my family. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

A huge highlight from last week was the celebration of Liv’s birthday! I can’t even believe he’s 10. This kid is so brilliantly smart and has a heart of gold. She has made so many amazing friends and is P.’s best big sister. I am so proud of her and being the mother of these two amazing children is a very favorite thing.

The annual collage of birthday photos:

(brb will cry)

She wanted a pig-themed party – she loves piglets – and we invited some of her closest friends to Defy trampoline park.

Look at the cake my mother made !!!

(I ordered the little fence and the pigs from Amazon)

Plus store-bought cupcakes and add these little piglets on top.

Since there was no way I could find pre-made bags of pig treats, I simply printed out the pigs’ faces and glued them to these treat bags.

It was the perfect day to celebrate. <3

Friday pets

It’s time for some of the week’s favorites and online. As always, I love hearing about your favorite things, so please call out something you love in the comments section below.

Read, watch, listen:

Kelly Clarkson BLESSES us with this cover. Hear the magic heeeeeeeee.

Emily in Paris. It’s such a pleasure to watch, fashion is crazy, and I’m so pumped up that they renewed it for two more seasons! That’s the only thing I like on TV right now, haha.

Definitely check out this week’s podcast episode with Danny Matranga!

10 ways to help a new mother.

Fitness + good food:

Plate of toast with avocado from Prep and Pastry with chicken sausage. I was curious to see if this would cause a jump with my CGM – I’ve been using Nutrisense for the last few weeks – and zero peaks! Rate the meal at 10 and I totally agree. 😉

F45. YOU BOYS. I tried this for the first time last week with a friend and I really liked it. I wanted to do more HIIT workouts – I can do them in the gym, but I’m tired of using rowing and treadmill – and that was all I was looking for. I will include it in my routine 1-2 times a week (depending on what I have and the teaching schedule), but I like the combination of exercises, community environment, music and motivational boost. Expect a Focus On post about it all! If you have any questions, please let me know and if you have tried the F45, leave your experience in the comments!

How exercise can slow down the signs of aging.

Fashion + beauty:

I ordered these Chelsea boots a while ago and still haven’t found a pair of jeans that fit them perfectly. (I just can’t make the combination of jeans with wide legs and chelsea boots.) Instead, I just look forward to wearing them with printed dresses and skirts in the spring! Please let me know if you have seen any cute winter style tips.

I try modern jeans:

I love this tarte palette. It’s small – so it’s easy to hide in a travel bag or backpack – and has all the classic neutral colors. I have super sensitive eyes and tarte is one of the only brands that doesn’t itch.

My favorite Zela jacket is on sale.

I ordered these sweet sweatshirts from the heart for the girls.

Happy Friday, friends!
