DC Comics continues its wave of inclusion with a significant moment in the history of comics. On National Release Day, DC announced that the new Superman is coming out as bisexual in the upcoming comic.
Jonathan Kent, the son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane, is currently known as “Superman on Earth.” John will appear in the November 9 issue of “Superman: Son of Cal-El # 5” when he begins a romantic relationship with reporter Jay Nakamura, according to Variety.
Getting the man out of steel as bisexual is the most famous example of comic book publishers, including LGBTQ representatives.
If you remember, in August, DC published an issue in which Batman’s assistant Robin also came out as bisexual.
“I’ve always said that everyone needs characters and everyone deserves to be seen in their characters, and I’m very grateful that DC and Warner Bros. share this idea,” said Tom Taylor, the writer of this issue. “The symbol of Superman has always stood for hope, for truth and for justice. Today, this symbol represents something more. Today, more people can be seen in the most powerful superhero in comics. “
In the edition, John Kent’s Superman “will find solace in Jay’s arms after he completely gave up trying to save the world, according to a press release.

Marvel also had its share of LGBTQ characters, including Iceman, Miss America and Northstar – one of the first openly gay comics when it came out in 1992.
