Celebrities are joining the search for a missing 19-year-old woman who authorities say was last seen Friday night at a residential complex near the University of Central Florida in Orlando, where she worked.
Mia Marcano’s story touches many people – who share their information on social media in the hope that she was found safe – after Mia’s family said she disappeared hours before she had to fly to Fort Lauderdale to visit, according to WESH 2 .
Orange County officials say Mia Marcano was last seen at around 5pm on Friday in the Arden Villas apartments. Investigators describe her as 5 feet tall and weighing 130 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.
Orange County lawmakers searched inside, outside and around the apartment complex on Saturday as Mia’s family traveled from Fort Lauderdale to Orlando to talk to detectives.
Mia’s father Marlon Marcano told WESH 2 that his daughter lives and works for the residential complex in the leasing office. Her father said he spoke to Mia on Friday afternoon, but did not hear her when she left work.
He added that Mia had to catch a flight to her family’s home later that evening, but said she had never boarded the plane.
“A big problem that people who have recently moved in is that the gate we have is not always closed and people would like it to always be closed,” said a resident of the apartment complex in front of the news station. “I think especially after that I would agree with them on this.”
Authorities did not name any suspects or interested parties, although there were unconfirmed rumors on social media that Mia had been abducted from the apartment complex.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about Mia Marcano’s disappearance to contact the OCSO emergency number 407-836-4357. If anyone sees her, they are called to call 911 immediately.
