American Idol finalist Siesha Mercado reunites with her son

Roommates, if you’ve been following the story of American Idol season 7 finalist Siesha Mercado and her partner Tyrone Diner, then you know they’ve struggled to regain custody of their son Amen’Ra, whom they affectionately call Ra . The couple shared their struggle as they tried to bring him home after he was taken from their care in March. As previously reported, doctors at John Hopkins Hospital for All Children told the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office that Ra looked malnourished and would have died without proper treatment.

However, these are allegations that Siesha denies and says that she went to the hospital to seek help because she could not produce breast milk. Today seems like a brighter day for the family as they rejoice as Ra is finally home after being placed in foster care. Siesha updated his Instagram page, where he documented the whole experience. While Tyrone was driving, he shared a video with Siesha in the back seat with their daughter Ast and Ra. If you remember, the couple also reunited with their daughter in April after Manatee County Sheriff’s Deputies removed her from their care the following week due to an alleged Child Protection (CPS) investigation.

In the shared video, you see the excitement in the faces of Siesha and Ra as they are happy to be together. Tyrone took some time to thank everyone for their support as they struggled to bring Ra home, but he also said the battle was not over. “Ra has officially returned to us, but it is not over, because we have to deal with six months of surveillance of the state that comes to our home,” Tyrone said. He went on to explain that every week for the next six months, the couple will have to prove that they are competent and capable of raising Ra. He reiterated that although Ra was at home, he and Siesha would be monitored for six months by the CPS.

Roommates, let’s keep this family in mind as they keep fighting to keep Ra at home!
